SHORT HOBBY COURSES AND CRAFT RETREATS
Anglia Leisure Learning brings you a wide range of quality short hobby weekends, craft retreats and ‘getaways’ at great venues across the country. Spend a day or two being inspired by leading tutors, while you add to your skills and exchange ideas with others who have similar interests.
Weekend courses usually run from Friday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon, with most people residential, giving you plenty of time to develop your creative side, and become fully involved in your chosen craft or leisure pastime.
When you arrive, your tutor will introduce you to your fellow guests while you have a refreshing cup of tea or coffee, and perhaps be tempted by home baked cookies. Then choose your evening meal from the three course menu of delicious freshly prepared dishes.
Your Welcome Pack gives details of your retreat timetable along with other useful information about your course and venue, and a handy notepad and pen.
Your comfortable en suite double bedroom is just for you, with TV, tea and coffee making facilities and many other amenities, but most people become so engrossed in their course that they only use their bedroom for sleeping.
Seven o’clock on Friday sees the welcome dinner where you will get to know your fellow guests, and then at 8 pm you will have a brief introductory course session.
On Saturday, if you are an early riser, in many venues you can have a swim before going for a freshly cooked full English breakfast or Continental - the choice is yours. Your course starts at 9:30, with regular refreshments throughout the day, a buffet lunch and a three course evening meal. The final evening session finishes at 9 pm.
Then on Sunday there is another delicious breakfast, and your course then runs from 9:30 to 3:30 pm, with refreshments and a buffet lunch.

Why Our Customers Love Our Courses
Textile artist Annette’s beautiful work contributed to my decision to learn more about patchwork and quilting. Liza from Anglia Leisure Learning made sure everything ran smoothly – thank you Liza and Annette (Morgan the tutor); it was a wonderful weekend.
Most useful to learn new techniques, have good company and meet like-minded people; an inspiring stimulating and enjoyable weekend.
I really enjoyed the course and you did and excellent job organising it. The highlight was falling in love with sewing again, after a five year gap. Thank you!
I have attended two courses in the last six months. Excellent tutors and excellent venues. I’ve learnt so many new quilting techniques. Can’t wait until the next one.
Just home from an amazing residential course with the talented Cas Holmes. Everything was so easy, from booking, the meet and greet, information packs and support whilst away. The hotel was perfect and Liza Jones did a brilliant job keeping everything running smoothly. I am already researching my next course.
