All about your weekend retreat
Have you ever wanted to capture the beauty of flowers in your paintings? Well, here is your opportunity to learn how to do just that. Your tutor, Debbie Devauden, will show you the way to carefully examine specimens and make an initial drawing, considering the composition of the finished work.
You will then progress through the careful stages to a final painting. All aspects of illustration will be explained and you will learn how to get the most from your materials, including mixing and colour applications.
By the end of the weekend you will be able to take away a finished painting or paintings, having learned the skills needed to produce your own work without supervision, but still hungry for more tuition to the next level. This course is suitable for both beginners and improvers.
Debbie has been painting flower pictures since childhood. She is a prize winning artist and achieved a Diploma in Botanical Illustration in 2003. She teaches classes of all ages – from 6 to 82! Students enjoy her relaxed and friendly approach. Her teaching style involves practical demonstrations, help and advice at all stages. Debbie has exhibited her work at many venues and sells originals, prints and cards.

Why Our Customers Love Our Courses
Textile artist Annette’s beautiful work contributed to my decision to learn more about patchwork and quilting. Liza from Anglia Leisure Learning made sure everything ran smoothly – thank you Liza and Annette (Morgan the tutor); it was a wonderful weekend.
Most useful to learn new techniques, have good company and meet like-minded people; an inspiring stimulating and enjoyable weekend.
I really enjoyed the course and you did and excellent job organising it. The highlight was falling in love with sewing again, after a five year gap. Thank you!
I have attended two courses in the last six months. Excellent tutors and excellent venues. I’ve learnt so many new quilting techniques. Can’t wait until the next one.
Just home from an amazing residential course with the talented Cas Holmes. Everything was so easy, from booking, the meet and greet, information packs and support whilst away. The hotel was perfect and Liza Jones did a brilliant job keeping everything running smoothly. I am already researching my next course.
