All about your weekend retreat
Spend the weekend creating your own modern patchwork quilt guided by accomplished tutor Janet Goddard. You will learn a whole range of basic patchwork techniques, from rotary cutting, machine piecing and quilt assembly, to borders and binding, with lots of helpful tips along the way. And by the end of the course you will be well on the way to completing your own quilt made with fresh fabrics and simple, stunning patchwork designs.
You will have the choice of three of Janet’s designs: “Flower Market”, “Basement Windows” (both machine piecing) or “There Always Has to Be One” (machine piecing and appliqué). Janet will cover all the skills needed for these patterns. And as you work along with others interested in patchwork, you will see how the same pattern made up in varied fabrics can create a completely different outcome.
Whether you are a beginner or improver, you will take home a selection of skills and knowledge from this weekend course that you can adapt to other future projects.
Janet is a qualified teacher and regularly runs workshops throughout the UK. Her patterns have featured in patchwork, quilting and sewing magazines and she is the author of the book ‘Simply Modern Patchwork Bags’. With her experience she is able to quickly pass on her skills to students, who then take home their own original pieces of patchwork.

Why Our Customers Love Our Courses
Textile artist Annette’s beautiful work contributed to my decision to learn more about patchwork and quilting. Liza from Anglia Leisure Learning made sure everything ran smoothly – thank you Liza and Annette (Morgan the tutor); it was a wonderful weekend.
Most useful to learn new techniques, have good company and meet like-minded people; an inspiring stimulating and enjoyable weekend.
I really enjoyed the course and you did and excellent job organising it. The highlight was falling in love with sewing again, after a five year gap. Thank you!
I have attended two courses in the last six months. Excellent tutors and excellent venues. I’ve learnt so many new quilting techniques. Can’t wait until the next one.
Just home from an amazing residential course with the talented Cas Holmes. Everything was so easy, from booking, the meet and greet, information packs and support whilst away. The hotel was perfect and Liza Jones did a brilliant job keeping everything running smoothly. I am already researching my next course.
